Story:
“So, what you got for Ian’s birthday? I bet you got him something you like! Come on, tell me! Tell me, tell me, tell me.” asked Tom.
“I just got him books, his favourite.” replied Harry.
“I am really glad he invited me to his party.” Said Tom.
“Do not get to happy, remember how you even got invited?”replied Harry
“Right. It was a little bit embarrassing to go on my knees and beg Ian for an invitation like that, but you know me, if I do not get an invitation, I would just crash the party anyway. By the way, thanks for helping me with the whole persuasion thing.”
“Whatever, let’s just go to the party and stop this idle chit-chat.”
After a long walk, Tom and Harry finally reached Ian’s house. They gave a knock on the door to Ian’s house. Ian appeared dressed in a casual outfit with his signature pose, standing upright and holding a book really close to his eyes. Barely glancing up from the book, Ian told them in a matter- of -fact manner,"Presents are my entry fee."
After handing over the gifts, the boys walked in and saw that John, the well-loved prankster of class 5Z (loved even by those who has received his pranks because they were funny and not things that inflict pain in anyway), and some other of Ian’s tuition friends were already here. Going around the room, Tom asked Ian’s friends a set of questions about personal details, to make more friends. Tom then went straight towards John to discuss the great prank plan that will see through the entire party. Harry just could not be bothered with such things and just went straight for the lunch buffet.
After a series of rather hilarious events, courtesy of John, who is sometimes aided by Tom, it was time for Harry’s favourite part of the party, cake time. You could see the reflection of the cream covered chocolate cake in his intent eyes.
Ian then went through the ‘normal birthday stuff’ according to Tom and went to the toilet due to a rather painful stomach-ache. Suddenly, John suddenly grabbed Tom and Harry and told them about the greatest prank that they will pull off in that day.
The plan was basically to put really sharp things and Ian’s chair, but after much consideration, Tom decided that they should pull a prank before that so that Ian will not suspect anything. After that, it was decided, Tom would pull the chair away before Ian could sit on it, this would be the diversion, the other two would then switch the chair that Tom pulled with one that was blanketed with thumbtacks.
The trio then set everything up, fortunately, Ian just came back. Harry suddenly realised that he should not have done such a thing and wanted to tell Ian what they had planned and stop it from happening. He then told the other two what he felt but they would not listen. He was determined to set things straight and decided to just let John do it by himself and decided to pull Tom away from the action and started to tell him in full detail his own opinion.
Tom was finally convinced. He, as the righteous person he really is, even though in a way in a league with John, ran towards Ian and pushed him away from the thumbtack covered chair. After much explanation to Ian, Ian finally got it. Ian got John to leave the party and let the others enjoy without his presence. After John left, there was a momental hush but the party became nosiy a second later, going on as usual as before.
